Bio

Craig Mitchell has found his voice resonating across various cultural spheres for 15 years, as a voiceover artist, host, marketer, and community builder. With a talent for uniting people, a magnetic voice reaching millions daily, and an impassioned commitment to crafting memorable experiences, this native of North St. Louis, MO, has made significant strides in his endeavors in New York City. He is the driving force behind his independent creative and talent service, CM Effect LLC. Since its inception in 2013, the business has flourished on the principles of community and a genuine appreciation for stories that inspire individuals and drive larger movements. His clientele includes prominent names such as Nike, CBS Sports, Roc Nation, and many others.

Craig embarked on his voiceover journey in 2015, initially providing scratch reads for pitch work targeting major clients, which he also oversaw as an executive at Steve Stoute’s agency, Translation. Embracing the ethos of "pushing culture forward," Craig identified his niche and expanded his business to lend his voice and curate culture. His community of creatives relies on him to infuse stories, concepts, brands, and experiences with his infectious personality, authenticity, and innate tone that resonates with listeners.

As the leader of CM Effect, Craig has conjured storytelling magic for an impressive array of clients, including the NBA, NFL, and Moët Hennessy. In 2023, Craig was selected as the voice of Budweiser's landmark "6 Degrees of Bud" 360 Commercial Campaign, a tribute to his city, featuring fellow hometown hero Metro Boomin. Roc Nation subsequently enlisted Craig to narrate Jay-Z’s surprise Tribute exhibit, “The Book Of Hov,” celebrating the icon's career and 50 years of Hip-Hop. He also played a pivotal role in introducing a groundbreaking automobile designed to protect black drivers during routine traffic stops, leaving an indelible mark on audiences worldwide with his narration of Nike's tribute film to the NBA's 75th Anniversary.

Yet, Craig's impact transcends voiceover work. He curates music experiences that foster a sense of unity through the universal language of music. As the co-founder of Melodies NYC and in collaboration with his friend Classicnewwave, he has cultivated a community celebrating the soulful essence of black music. Craig has hosted unforgettable events like the high-vibrating Brown Sugar Bounce, Lavender & Velvet, and many others.

Beyond the glare of the spotlight, Craig is a dedicated advocate for his community, serving on the board of the Creative Heritage Foundation to support and elevate black creatives in St. Louis. Rooted in his upbringing and education at Gateway HS and Alabama A&M University, Craig remains steadfastly committed to inspiring the next generation of creatives to pursue their dreams with unwavering determination.

With a career that spans from the boardrooms of major brands to the airwaves of cultural phenomena, Craig Mitchell embodies more than just a storyteller – he is a catalyst for change, a beacon of inspiration, and a testament to the transformative power of storytelling.
